So this month, I met sock yarn and shawls for the first time and my mind has been racing with creative thoughts ever since! It all started when I saw Feathery Leaves, a gorgeous fingering/sock yarn hand dyed by Witch Candy. I knew I had to have some of that yarn and I knew exactly what I wanted to make. Triangular shawls have been on my radar, as I see them everywhere but had never made one. When I saw this yarn, which screamed mermaids and nautical magic to me, I knew it would be my inspiration to design my own shawl. And this is the end result: the Catching Mermaid Waves Shawl.
I had wonderful testers help me get this pattern ready for its release, which happened this past Saturday.
Shawls are such a wonderful thing! You can make one using a single skein of sock yarn and let's just face it, some sock yarn is just too beautiful to be worn hidden in your shoes.
And talk about so many ways to display these beauties!
Yes I am clearly hooked and see many more of these in my future.
Speaking of more, here is a sneak peek of my next pattern: the Ferns and Lace Shawlette. It has already gone out to testers and is set to release by April 8th. You can read more about it on Ravelry.
Happy Knitting all!!!
